Tinnitus Retraining Therapy

Has anyone else use TRT to manage their tinnitus? What results have you had. It worked very well for me and also led me to mindfulness therapy. The key for me was when they told me we will eventually move this sound into the background like the sound of your refrigerator. That made sense to me and helped me better understand the methodology of the therapy.

Did you have to use earing devices every day? Could you explain better all the process?
Thanks

Can you tell me a little more about Tinnitus Retraining Therapy? Is it anything like what I do in my videos? Or something different?
For me, I would definitely say the sound is more like a background noise now. I still have background noises in my daily life though. It makes it easier for me to not notice it. Sometimes I get excited when I don't notice it and I even try to find it and can't find it. :) And this gave me the inspiration to make today's video:

As i understood it, TRT is the technic or therapy created by Pawel Jastreboff that uses sound therapy to train your brain to lower the volume of tinnitus. It's goal is to help a person habituate, by not focusing in the tinnitus.
It's praticed by audiologists that tune "in ear sound generators" similar to hearing aids that play a sound inside your ear canal.
Some hearing aids also have the feature to play other sounds to mask tinnitus, like white noise, pink noise, and so on.

To me, i don't like it, because i think is dangerous to have a sound played inside your ear for 12 hours straight. Besides, i dislike white or pink noise.

What i do is to play sounds through a sound machine or pc when i'm working or at my home, sounds like crickets, waterfall or a theme that comes in my Oasis Sound machine (Hawaiian Dream).
I prefer sound machines, i never used in ear sound generators. Sound machines are much cheaper and they do the same. Also, some people that use TRT had worsen their tinnitus, although it happens rarely.

For me, TRT is just masking tinnitus, and takes the credit for the normal proccess of habituation (getting to a better place).
In my opinion, TRT helps as much as any sound machine or air purifieronly masking tinnitus, helping us cope till we gradually get ourselves in a better place (by habituation, remission or acceptence).

TRT doesn't cure tinnitus, just help us cope as any other sound generator we use.
Audiologists makes us pay a fortune like 3.000 dolars for each in ear masking device, when by 50 dolars you buy a excelent sound machine from Oasis.
If you have earing loss, like me, use your hearing aids and play a sound machine, thats enough to mask my tinnitus.

Always play the sound machine in a lower volume than your tinnitus.

These are my thoughts
Peace
